Full-Scale remediation by a soil evaporation system is expected to begin at the Le Roy Superfund site where a train derailed 46 years ago and release 35,000 gallons of TCE and 1 ton of cyanide crystals.  This new technology involves placing a vacuum on the contaminated soil, extracting and containing the TCE into a filter, and then returning the soil to the site after testing.  The cleanup is expected to take 2 years to complete.
